The timing system, which was developed especially for orienteering, essentially consists of SI cards and stations. Time information sent by the stations is written on the cards and read out at the finish line. The company has also been offering the contactless registration system for 10 years. In the meantime, this technology is also used in other outdoor sports such as mountain bike enduro. SPORTident is based in Arnstadt, 20 kilometers south of Erfurt.
